Thoughts on Kimber Eclipse Custom II 10mm - 1911Forum
Jul 14, 2017 · Hello Atlas, I've owned a Kimber Eclipse in 10MM, a Delta, and other 10s. I much preferred the Kimber in 10MM, with the ramped barrel and very well supported chamber, over the Delta. Still think the Eclipse was one of the best looking 1911 type guns I ever had. But you're certainly right about people not having the best to say about Kimbers.

Apr 28, 2018 · I recently purchased a brand new Kimber 10mm Eclipse and have been experiencing massive FTF issues right from the start. I tried several different magazines; Kimber, MetalForm, MecGar & Tripp Cobra. I also tried several different factory ammunition brands; Sellier & Bellot, PMC Bronze, PPU (Prvi Partizan) & Remington UMC. Same results in all cases.

Sep 19, 2007 · BTW, Kimber knew it had 10mm magazine problems when it first came out with the limited run of Target models. There were lots of threads about it. Check the history of it at the Kimber section here. Do a search. You are going to love your new 10mm Eclipse!! Try some reloads that are middle of the road velocity for target work... Very accurate!!

Jan 15, 2020 · From the reviews on the Brownells site, the Wilson 10mm mags aren’t as good as their 45 ACP mags. My Eclipse runs fine now with Metalform, Tripp, Kimber (I got 2 with my gun) and Mecgar.

Jun 7, 2013 · The lead 180gr worked okay, but had a couple FTF with Tripp mags, and I found the OEM Kimber (Metalform) mags don't like high powered loads. I've decided to junk the OEM Kimber/Metalform mags. In order to rule out my own reloads, my next range trip I purchased a quantity of Prvi 10mm 180gr JHP ammo.

Aug 31, 2010 · Out of the box the Kimber may have an accuracy advantage but if you are looking for a combat auto in 10MM the DE is almost fail proof with Colt’s service tolerances built into the gun. The Kimber may need (mine didn’t) hundreds to a thousand cycles to be deemed “reliable” with Kimbers tight manufacturing tolerances.

Sep 27, 2009 · I have a Kimber 10mm custom eclipse II. Stock 18.5 recoil spring with a ramped bbl. It works fine with the 18.5 recoil spring. I had wanted to go to a heaved spring, 20lb. When I did, mid way through the mag I had extraction problems. Spent casing would get caught up in the action and jam it up. I am not a rookie where the 10mm is concerned.

Nov 13, 2005 · I have a Kimber SS Target 10mm. I've shoot alot of Double Tap hot loads thru mine with no problems. Very Accurate. I picked up Chip McCormick Shooting Star magazines and they work great. You can check with Mike McNett at Double Tap and I believe that I read that he has put over 5,000 rounds thru his Kimber SS Target 10mm with no problems.
