Nintendo has confirmed it will announce the "successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year." This is our first official word that Nintendo is making new hardware. The Switch 2 could have an 8-inch screen and feature backward compatibility with both games and older Joy-Con controllers.

The new Nintendo Switch model is almost here, sporting a larger, OLED touchscreen and a new dock, as well as a new color scheme for the classic Joy-con controllers and dock. It will release on October 8 for $349.99.

Nintendo will release its next-gen console during the second half of 2024, according to a new report.
