Jan 24, 2022 · Yes, the name "Shelby" was involved but those cars were not built by/for Shelby American. They were offered throughthe Shelby Foundation as completed cars - with power train - but not legal for street use (yeah, right). I don't know if any of them were ever sold. I would have loved to have had McClusky's car. _____

Jul 29, 2021 · For equal pricing take the Shelby CSX version. Long term they hold their price or appreciate more than the Kirkham. Yes, it's all in the name. Kirkham is overwhelmed with orders, booked way out, so pricing is to slow down demand so supply can catch up. But a Shelby will come from Kirkham, so it will take a while too.

May 4, 2009 · Very interesting. The LA is actually part of the car's number, not just an MSO thing. CSX4011 would have been built in the late 90s, yet this CSX4011LA was built in 2007. Obviously this is a special series car. Perhaps sold by an outside dealer with permission from Shelby and with a special VIN (Shelby does do that). _____

I know legendary motorcar has done some interesting mods to the original style 427 , in the name of safety and there is a 427 at the Shelby museum that is full width but with a 45 degree angle and front bracing , sorry no pics . Jul 2, 2003 · The letters CSX applied to Cobras sent to the Shelby factory for the US market. There were also COB cars which were for the British market (right hand drive). Most of the original cars had a serial number plate pop riveted to the right hand (passenger side) foot box with the serial number stamped or engraved on it.

Jul 22, 2003 · No small blocks, either in a Shelby Mustang or a Cobra, came from the factory (Shelby American) with dual quads. 1967 GT500's (428's) had dual quads, and a fair number of big block Cobras (427's & 428's) came with dual quads, but that's about it.
