Jan 28, 2023 · Game Dev as a whole, no. It's really hard to find a good book on game development because game development and Compasses so many different and diverse subgenres of work. Realistically someone that makes a good programmer is not really going to excel at Art creation and vice versa. Every so often there are a few unicorns.

Reading a book and playing a game are completely different experiences, and in turn the clubs for both will have varying experiences.

It was my first game design book. A Theory of Fun and Level UP: the guide to great video game design are also pretty good.

In The God’s Game series, the MC gets isekaid into a fantasy world and becomes a wood elf. While in The Great Game the MC gains classes and skills, but race changing doesn’t seem to be part of it.

Sep 30, 2022 · Now, Unity has this book called "2D game art, animation, and lighting for artists" which was such a treat to read, as I’m a designer that is kinda getting overwhelmed by the programming stuff. While yes, the book uses Unity, the contents are universal for most of the cases. Super interesting read even if you don’t plan to make a 2D game.
