Many of you have had fine experiences with MEC reloaders but other brands provide great reloading experiences without the frustrations that you see on MEC reloader threads.

I’m curious of your thoughts on use of white lithium grease on points 5 and 6 as shown in the MEC owner’s manual. See pic below. Called for on the outside of the collet (6) and what they are calling the “roller in actuator rod” (5).

Mec reloader - brass washers - Shotgun Forum
Feb 9, 2012 · New to reloading. I know that the rubber grommets on my mec 600 Jr. go under the shot bottle tops on the bottle holder. Where do the thin brass washers go? Can't seem to find them on the Mec parts picture. These brass washers are very thin and have 3 very small raised punched sections on them.

Apr 13, 2022 · I must be very lucky because in approximately 30 years of using multiple MEC progressive reloaders I've never had a bottle break. For my 12, 20 and 28 gauge loaders I use the tall bottle for shot and short bottle for powder and use a bottle support. I use 2 short bottles on my 410 loader without the bottle support.

Feb 20, 2024 · It is not a production machine , but it did afford me the opportunity to reload shot shells early in life . I eventually purchased several Mec reloaders as finances allowed and they are production machines . After all these years my take on the Lee vs Mec debate is such. The Lee load all is highly underrated and Mec reloaders are highly overrated .

Mar 5, 2023 · Both my “clear” bottles from MEC from the 1990’s unexpectedly shattered in spectacular fashion, my “opaque” MEC bottles from the 1970’s both cracked at the necks and I epoxied them to repair. Now I use some sort of plastic beverage bottle that I cut a hole in the bottom and fitted a MEC stopper for flake powders.
