Dec 12, 2010 · The coffee pot cleaner chemicals at the store are sodium carbonate. As in, not an acid. I use straight sodium carbonate which is "pH up" sold for pools and hot tubs. It cleans out all the nastiness from my coffee pot system. Any idea why coffee cleaners are a base but vinegar is an acid when both are supposed to do the same thing?

Nov 28, 2012 · Pellets are burning into a pile of grit. I have cleaned the inside of the stove, removed and cleaned all of the exhaust. Does this sound like a convection fan issue? This is my next project to clean again. 50 degrees in the house this morning :(

Oct 23, 2010 · I place a handful of pellets into a plastic (1 pound) coffee container. Squirt a generous amount of gel, cover and shake about 15-20 times. Repeat with a second handful of pellets. I let the container sit while I clean the stove from its previous burn (1-3 minutes). Dump the pellets into the pot, light and close the door.

Nov 23, 2009 · Our use for said teapots is to have a constant source of hot water during the day, and this water comes straight from the tap [well water]. For drinking [coffee and tea], we have a separate teapot that is filled with water from the reverse osmosis system and it never gets any scale, regardless, as the water is almost completely mineral-free.
