Foreign Nationals can apply and obtain visas to visit Nepal at our office in Hong Kong. Except for 12 countries listed below, foreign nationals can also obtain visa on arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport and all other immigration entry points in Nepal.

Documents issued in Nepal are duly sent to the relevant issuing authorities in Nepal for verification through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singhadurbar, Kathmandu. The Consulate General also notifies the Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR as soon as these documents are forwarded to Nepal.

Diplomatic relation Between Nepal and the Hong Kong SAR traces back to the British Regime in the then Hong Kong. The relation was maintained from the then Royal Nepalese Liaison Office Hong Kong. Nepalese people began to come to Hong Kong in the 1970s, as part of the British Army’s Brigade of Gurkhas.

There are direct, non-stop 3 flights in a week (Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) between Hong Kong and Kathmandu. The flight time is about 4 hrs. 30 min. Connection to Kathmandu from Hong Kong is available also via Bangkok, Shanghai, Delhi, Singapore and Kualalumpur.

One-way Travel Document (TD) allows a Nepali citizen to travel from Hong Kong/Macao to Nepal ONLY. It is usually valid for 2 months from the date of issue and is good for a single one-way journey only.
