Maybe the state isn't vulnerable to a nuclear attack but it's on an earthquake fault line, close to a huge volcano, sees regular huge wildfires, is mostly arid desert or arctic tundra.

Dec 26, 2024 · My son recently moved from the Boston area to Memphis. It is shocking how much cheaper the cost of living is in Tennessee. Have you considered a move to another state? I know that's not something to be lightly considered--leaving friends, family, doctors, social networks, job etc.--but the cost of living elsewhere is less, often much less.

If you want to store significant amounts of alcoholic spirits, you're better off getting 1.5-liter bottles of your chosen booze (try Sam's Club or Costco) and a small-bore funnel and portioning it out into so-called "Boston Round" glass bottles for storage (check Amazon for those).

Sep 18, 2011 · Be sure to band or strap/support them just in case of earthquake, or impact SHTF situation. The picture below is stacked coke cans in their flimsy cardboard cases. Tin cans would be a lot stronger than the cans used in canning soda. The stacks are separated by pallets. There are no shelving or supports.

That is true for a localized catastrophe like hurricane or earthquake and one should back up critical information for that reason. (I prefer an external hard drive run through a USB port using Acronis "True Image" software.)
