WEBSuper Puzzle Fighter II Turbo - best puzzle game on the system IMHO. Bust-a-Move (Groove in US) - dance game with a great soundtrack. Pioneer in the rhythm game genre. Parappa the Rapper - another early rhythm game, weird cartoon style, timeless. Metal Gear Solid - Probably the pinnacle of gaming on the system.

WEBResident Evil 2, for sure. My best PS1 game of all time is Metal Gear Solid. But if I allowed to say other games than MGS then it will be Final Fantasy 9, Suikoden 2, Street Fighter EX2 Plus and Marvel vs Capcom. Final Fantasy Tactics with ease for me personally. In terms of convenience, the best route to go playing PS1 games is a PS3/ cracked Vita combo.
