NiMh and alkaline (however leaky) are cheap, widely available, and safe chemistries that are not options available to the CR123 users.

Oct 6, 2014 · After a little use, the voltages would be closer to 3.6v and 3.7v, respectively. Adding a second 18650 in series would double the voltage and probably 'poof' all the LEDs, if not at once after only a short time. But adding that 18650 in parallel would leave the voltage the same and double the run time available.

It will use a LED P60 drop in, either a 2.8-6 volt or 2.7-9 volt, and be powered by a single 18650 battery.

Dec 12, 2003 · In a regulated LED light one 18650 will last much longer than two cr123's because one 18650 has more capacity. Unfortunately an 18650 is usually too fat to fit in most lights that are designed for 123's. In that case, the 17670 size will usually fit. The number represent the size of the battery in millimeters. 18650= 18mm wide x 65mm long.

Jan 24, 2010 · Can't compare them to any other contemporary charger, but I've got one of the 8-bay chargers and it works pretty well. Handles whichever battery I put in it, so long as it's on their list. (And it's an extensive list.) Can do, for example, 18650 Li-Ion at the same time as AA NiMH at the same time as AAA NiMH.
