Jul 12, 2024 · Same. For me, 64 is the 2nd worst 3D Mario. The honour of worst for me is Super Mario 3D Land, and I'd argue 3D World is tied with 64, unless those games don't "count" as 3D Mario games because of the semi-fixed camera angles (something I've heard argued one time too many before), in which case, 64 is the worst 3D Mario game for me.

Oct 10, 2022 · With the Mario movie coming out in April, it's going to be a hot topic next year, maybe even making Mario more mainstream than it already is; releasing a new 3D Mario after the movie while it still has hype is a great way they can do it. Whether it's Super Mario Odyssey 2, an open-world 3D Mario, or something else, the future of 3D Mario is bright!

Dec 26, 2023 · Mario Kart's only just got done with a major DLC campaign, whilst we haven't had anything 3D Mario since the small Bowser's Fury in 2021. Of course Metroid Prime 4 could be there too, but I don't personally think Nintendo would rely so heavily on a non-Nintendo (and still relatively niche) product for their next big product launch.

The Shadow Mario chases in every stage feel like a desperate attempt by the devs to show the player the best way to experience Mario Sunshine. Now, Super Mario 64 is very similar, which is why I previously would've considered it my favorite 3D Mario.

Jul 21, 2023 · Galaxy on the other hand was the first game that proved to me that 3D Mario was capable of hitting the same heights of classic 2D Mario (3/World) - and it is still the only game to ever do so. Sadly, I haven't yet had a chance to ever play Galaxy 2. Also never played 3D Land (but have played the rest of the games).

Jan 7, 2025 · Super Mario Odyssey didn't come out until October of 2017, 7 months after the Switch launched. I could see the system launching in March/April with a new party IP and BotW Remastered, then Mario Kart 9 in the summer, and the next 3D Mario in the fall.
