Jan 6, 2009 · The jig borer will not only tell you how long or wide an object is, it will show if the piece is truly square. Using a sine bar and gauge blocks, angles can be checked to very high accuracy just by indicating the setup along an axis of the jig borer. We are talking split minutes here. Well, maybe you don't want a jig borer in your shop.

Feb 25, 2020 · Keep in mind, the Linley is a light duty jig borer designed to precisely locate, drill, and bore holes in a 6"x10" area. While it can be used for occasional milling, it is not a primary vertical mill. Unless you specifically need a jig borer, a small milling machine such as a Clausing 8520 or Rockwell 21-100 is a better option. Tom

Jul 16, 2019 · the jig borer belt tension is set with cast aluminum hood on since the adjustment screw is built into the hood -- belt whip even with new v-belts will likely eliminate goal of 4K spindle speed--this would also require 3600 rpm drive motor capability

Aug 30, 2023 · The other option is a Urawa jig mill. This will have a BT40 taper on the spindle, preloaded ball screws, glass scales, a Fanuc 6m 3 axis controller and a very slow tool changer. The price will be about the same as the manual SIP jig borer.

Aug 1, 2010 · The weight is about 1T, maybe slightly under. Best is the use the lifting eye bolt at the provided place. Since my loading door is 9 ft high, I could not clear the machine loaded on the pickup and I did not have the option of removing it from the truck and shifting to the shop.

Jan 15, 2004 · A Moore jig borer if run in a cool shop acts stiffer as the temperature decreases because the nuts have shrunk slightly around the lead screws. If run in a warm shop the lead screw/nut develops about 20 millionths of an inch additional backlash for every 10 degrees F temperature rise.
