Worked there when they did, including on the NHL series for a while. PC is NOT a popular gaming platform for sports games. Definitely not by the logic EA uses to decide product viability. The discrepancy in numbers between PC and console unit sales is ludicrous, and it’s no cheaper to develop for PC than console. Not worth it.

May 6, 2022 · Madden, FIFA, and F1 all dwarf the NHL in worldwide sales and popularity, so they get bigger budgets and the manpower to produce PC ports. NHL can't even get a large enough budget to afford both an in-game soundtrack and goal songs. NHL is closer to NBA Live than it is to Madden -- if they have a couple of down years, the game will disappear.

For those people it's quite likely they would only see an NHL PC release through some major announcement or the game literally pop up in the Steam new releases section. Of course, for the people who are still trying to play this game on pc, actively visiting this forum, and are paid premium subscribers for Xbox GamePass, they will likely play this.

The last game made for PC is NHL09. By many accounts, it was a crummy port, and essentially a roster update from NHL08, but that aside, EA has removed it from Origin. That's right, the 10 year old game, the last whiff of NHL action for PC players in a decade, isn't for sale anymore.

Next year there will be more posts asking for NHL 26 on PC to which you or somebody else will respond saying we have to wait for the game announcement. Which once again it won't be on PC and you'll give us the exact same excuse that you're focusing on ps5 and Xbox and maybe next year. It's been the same story now for 10 years or more.
