Social media platform X suffered three massive outages in one day. Hacking group Dark Storm Team has reportedly claimed responsibility for a Distributed Denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on the platform.

The Dark Storm hacktivist group claims to be behind DDoS attacks causing multiple X worldwide outages on Monday, leading the company to enable DDoS protections from Cloudflare.

A hacking group with ties to Russia has claimed responsibility for the massive cyberattack on X, which saw the social media platform unable to be accessed by thousands of users, although user functionality was quickly restored.

The hacktivist group Dark Storm, in a conversation with entrepreneur and social media influencer Ed Krassenstein, claimed full responsibility for the attack and even stated that firstly, the attack was not from Ukraine like Musk said, and that they "can attack again. A stronger attack this time."

Pro-Palestinian cyberhacking group Dark Storm claimed that it hacked X/Twitter on Monday. This comes after X CEO Elon Musk claimed that the social media platform experienced a massive cyberattack that "was done with a lot of resources," he wrote. "Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved."

The social media giant, X, formerly known as Twitter, is currently going through a crisis as it faced numerous outages, not only in the US but globally.
