All-Star weekend goes to San Francisco this year for the NBA’s annual midseason showcase. There are three nights of on-court events, highlighted by the Rising Stars competition for first- and second-year players on Friday, the dunk and 3-point contest on Saturday and then the All-Star Game on Sunday.

The NBA has asked, begged and pleaded for years with players in an effort that the All-Star Game get taken more seriously. And the latest solution is a radical one: a mini-tournament.

The All-Star starters for the West this year include Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic. As for the East, their starting five consists of Giannis Antetokounmpo (who won't be playing due to injury), Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Donovan Mitchell.

The Philadelphia 76ers' official drumline will represent the city at the three-day NBA All-Star weekend, which draws some of basketball's biggest stars and celebrity fans.

The NBA All-Stars are set, but now it’s time to pick teams. Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will draft the 24 All-Stars into three squads on Feb. 6.
