Mubi has secured the US rights and global SVOD rights to Grand Theft Hamlet. In this documentary, two out-of-work actors attempt to stage an entire production of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet within the game world of Grand Theft Auto Online during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The SXSW-winning documentary follows a pair of out-of-work theater actors during the COVID lockdown of 2021 who try to stage a production of 'Hamlet' within the video game 'Grand Theft Auto.'

Having premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival, where it picked up the jury award for Best Documentary Feature, Grand Theft Hamlet went on to be shown at Melbourne International Film Festival and HotDocs 2024. It's geared up to screen at London Film Festival and Cambridge Film Festival in the coming weeks.
