A man was shot after he opened fire on deputies outside the Gwinnett County jail on Monday afternoon.There was a massive law enforcement presence around the facility off Ga. Hwy. 316 outside of Lawrenceville soon after the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said there had been an “active shooter situation” at the jail,

Due to the ongoing investigation, the sheriff’s office is not accepting any new intakes into the facility and traffic near the area will be redirected.
