A total lunar eclipse will make the moon appear red during the across the Western Hemisphere during the "Blood Worm Moon" this week.

On the morning of Friday, March 14 -- the day of the full Worm Moon -- the moon will be 12 degrees above the western horizon as twilight begins at 6:23 a.m. EDT. No planets will be visible at that time, NASA said.

The eclipse season is back, bringing a total lunar eclipse on March 14 in the sign of Virgo. Lunar eclipses are always powerful, as they are believed to carry the energy of multiple full moons combined.
