WFRV Local 5 on MSNAir quality alert in northeast WisconsinThe latest from storm team 5… The end of your week was had some sunshine but the haze in the sky was hard to ignore. Northeast Wisconsin is currently under an air quality alert with smoke drifting down from the Canada wildfires.
An air quality alert was issued by the National Weather Service in Milwaukee-Sullivan at 1:52 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23.

Outside of a spotty storm this evening, drier weather moves in tonight and Sunday. Temperatures drop into the 70s tomorrow afternoon!
So far in 2025, the National Weather Service has officially documented 31 tornadoes across the Dairy State, a number that does not include July 23's likely tornado in Oconto County or any other possible twisters from that day. That number of 31 equals the average tornadoes per year since 2020 — and it's not even August.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, all severe weather alerts have been canceled, except for a flash flood warning for Kenosha County that is in effect until 12:15 a.m.
