The third minor that was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition after a water rescue on Friday has died, the Winston-Salem Fire Department reports. According to a statement posted to the WSFD’s X account,

One child has died after falling into a frozen pond in Winston-Salem, according to officials with the Winston-Salem Fire Department. Fire officials confirmed the child died Sunday, January 19. The child was in critical condition at a local hospital after falling into the pond while playing on January 16.
