Taylor Fritz’s mom, Kathy, is the great-granddaughter of David May, who founded the May Department Stores—better known today as Macy’s. She was a professional tennis player, reaching a ranking of no. 10 and winning seven titles. She also competed in three Grand Slam quarterfinals—at the U.S. Open in 1978, and the French Open in 1977 and 1978.
No American tennis player has won the men's singles draw at Wimbledon since 2000. Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton are hoping to change that in 2025.
