Brazil’s air force says several of its investigators are working with colleagues from three other nations to analyze data from the Azerbaijani airliner that crashed in Kazakhstan on Dec. 25, killing 38 people.

Tokayev awarded citizens for heroism and civil duty in rescuing passengers from the crashed plane. In an interview with Az.TV on Dec. 29, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev praised the solidarity and compassion demonstrated by Kazakh citizens after the tragic plane crash.

The aircraft crashed shortly in Gramado after takeoff from Canela, striking the chimney of a building and then a house before falling onto a furniture store.

Several passenger plane crashes have occurred worldwide this year, including a Wednesday morning Azerbaijan Airlines wreck that has left dozens feared dead.

ASTANA – Brazilian Air Force investigators are working with colleagues from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia to analyze the black box data from the Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed near Aktau on Dec. 25, claiming the lives of 38 people.

At least nine people died when a small plane crashed on Sunday morning in Gramado, in southern Brazil, authorities said, slamming into a commercial area of the tourist city.

The black box from the Azerbaijan Airlines crash in Kazakhstan, believed to have been caused by Russian air defense, is being sent to Brazil for investigation, Kazakh authorities reported on Dec. 29.
