The Oakland County Board of Commissioners approved Tuesday night, by a 14-7 vote, a new commission district map for 2022-2031, which decreases the number of districts from 21 to 19.

Democrats currently hold a narrow majority, 11-10, under the current district map. The new county commission district map reduces the number of county districts from 21 to 19.

Oakland Unified School District schools could run out of cash by November if the district’s Board of Education doesn’t act to close massive budget deficits projected for this school year and next.
