Israel’s military has announced new media engagement rules for its members after a Brazilian court ordered an investigation into war crime allegations against a soldier visiting the country.

The Israeli military will longer identify its forces by name in the media, “fearing the arrest of soldiers abroad.”

Israeli officials have identified more than a dozen instances where soldiers traveling abroad have faced war crimes complaints, they disclosed in a Knesset meeting on Monday, according to Israeli media reports. No soldier has yet faced any formal charges abroad.
