A multi-vehicle crash closed a few lanes of Interstate 84 westbound in East Hartford on Wednesday morning. The state Department of Transportation reported that the crash happened between exits 57 and 56.

TOLLAND, CT (WFSB) - An off ramp on I-84 east in Tolland was shut down following a crash Monday afternoon. State police say that it was a one car crash and that serious injuries were reported. The off ramp is currently closed as authorities investigate. It is unclear how long the area will be shut down for.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the incident happened between exits 48 and 49 around 8:45 a.m. The right lane was closed. At the time, the DOT said traffic was backed up about 3.5 miles.
