MONTANA - The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has officially kicked off the 2025 tax filing season. Taxpayers can now submit their federal individual tax returns for the 2024 tax year.
Earn less than $84K a year? You could benefit from this IRS tax filing program
For taxpayers with an annual Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $84,000 or less in 2024, one tool available to you is the IRS Free File. “Over the years, Free File has helped millions of taxpayers, providing a fast and simple way to file their returns,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said in a statement.
It’s tax season again. But now, many Idahoans can use IRS’s free filing tool.
Starting Monday, the Idaho State Tax Commission and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service will start processing individual tax returns for 2024. That’s also when the IRS’s Direct File program starts up, which lets residents in 25 states — now including Idahoans — can file their taxes for free directly through the IRS.
