LAS VEGAS -- Kenny Chesney will be the next headliner at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The 56-year-old country artist known for songs such as “There Goes My Life” and “When the Sun Goes Down” will kick off his series of shows at the iconic venue May 22.

Las Vegas’ Sphere is going country, and Kenny Chesney is going to be the man to take it there. The legendary country singer announced Thursday a 12-show residency at the venue to begin in May. That will mean that Chesney will be the first country artist to play the Sphere.

Kenny Chesney is Sphere-bound. The country star announced Thursday that he’ll launch a 12-date residency at the state-of-the-art dome-shaped venue in Las Vegas in May, nine months after he wrapped a U.S. tour that hit Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium in July.
