While discussing the reboot of the hit NBC drama on Sirius XM’s “The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw” (via ET ), series star Kitsch said he’s “been asked” to come back for it. And although he remains open to returning to the field in some capacity, don’t expect him to stick around for more than “an episode.”

It was announced in 2024 that Universal Television was developing a reboot of Friday Night Lights, the acclaimed television series starring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton that premiered in 2006 and ran for five seasons.

With the reboot of the beloved series Friday Night Lights currently in the works, there have been questions on whether original star Taylor Kitsch will be returning in the new version.

But host Savannah Guthrie also took the opportunity to pump Chandler for intel on Peacock’s upcoming Friday Night Lights reboot. Unfortunately, Chandler admitted he’s heard nothing about the new series,
