The first World Test Championship cycle began in 2019 and ended with the inaugural WTC Final in 2021 which was won by New Zealand. Indian and Australian bowlers have dominated the Test arena since the WTC cycle began nearly six years ago.

The achievement came on Day 2 of the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, where Bumrah struck early by removing Marnus Labuschagne in his second over of the day.

Jasprit Bumrah has not bowled on Day 3 of the fifth Test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The BCCI is yet to give an official update on the India cricketer.

India will be unable to call upon their inspirational captain and premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah after he left the field of play midway through the second day of the fifth and final Test against Australia.
