On March 14, a total lunar eclipse will occur, turning the moon a deep red shade, which is why it’s called a Blood Moon. Interestingly, this year, the Blood Moon has a special connection with Holi.
This includes South Mississippi. A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow. Sometimes a lunar eclipse is referred to as a blood moon because the moon turns rusty red.
