By Alexander Smith BARCELONA, Spain (Reuters) -Italy beat Britain to win the first Women's America's Cup on Saturday in a tightly-fought finale to the event, which competitors and organisers hope will help bridge the experience gap at the male-dominated top of the sport.

Great Britain trail New Zealand 2-0 after the opening two races of the America's Cup in Barcelona. Ineos Britannia, bidding to become the first British team to win the America's Cup, suffered a battery problem in race one which helped the Kiwis to a 41-second victory.
