ADEN, Yemen − Yemen's Houthi spokesperson Mohammed Abdulsalam said that the country would continue to defend itself after several U.S. strikes targeted facilities in the capital Sanaa on Tuesday. The U.S. military said that it carried out strikes against Houthi targets in Sanaa and coastal locations in Yemen on Monday and Tuesday.

Officials did not identify the U.S. ships, but they almost certainly were members of the Norfolk-based USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted strikes against Houthi facilities in Sana'a and coastal areas of Yemen in response to attacks on US ships and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
