ROBBINS, Ill. (CBS) -- A vehicle was struck by a Metra train in south suburban Robbins Monday afternoon, right before the start of the afternoon rush. Metra reported Rock Island District Line train 419, scheduled to arrive in Joliet at 4:02 p.m., hit a vehicle in Robbins.

Metra officials said UPNW train #717 was scheduled to arrived at Harvard at 5:20 p.m., but hit a vehicle in Norwood Park at around 4:20 p.m. near Nagle and Northwest Highway. Officials confirmed to WGN News that one person in the vehicle died as a result of the crash.
