The San Marcos Sheriff’s Station is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday at Mission Hills High School.

A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with a stabbing at a San Marcos-area high school. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said they received a call from a person who claimed to have been stabbed at Mission Hills High School.

One person was injured during a reported stabbing at a San Marcos high school that sent the campus into a temporary lockdown Wednesday, according to officials. The incident was reported around 3:25 p.m. at Mission Hills High School on Mission Court Road, sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Fox said.

A student was stabbed at Mission Hills High School and is expected to survive. A suspect, also a student, was arrested at home post-incident. The school was briefly locked down.

The victim was taken to the nurse's office for treatment before he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive, sheriff's officials said.
