The civil liberties group says the raids violated the Fourth Amendment, unlawfully targeting people of color regardless of their actual immigration status.

Advocates on the scene said the Border Patrol raids in Kern County last month indiscriminately targeted Latino farmworkers commuting from the fields and day laborers soliciting work in the parking lots of big box stores.

Farm workers, and all our neighbors in Kern County, should have the right to move, work, and live free from fear,” said UFW President Teresa Romero after the lawsuit was filed.
