With immediate aid still held up and future food procurements in limbo, a former USAID official warns of “a global catastrophe.”

A federal judge delivered a stern warning to the Trump administration that it must abide by a court order to unfreeze foreign-aid funding, but he stopped short Thursday of holding administration officials in contempt of court for continuing to hold up some of the money.

The administration was ordered last week to continue the disbursement of foreign aid after Trump ordered a pause on nearly all U.S. foreign assistance.
