The St. Louis Post-Dispatch criticized the GOP senator and Trump ally in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch pulled no punches with a damning assessment of Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) as “quite possibly the worst sitting senator in America right now.” The Missouri newspaper’s editorial board said Sunday that Donald Trump acolyte Hawley “stands apart for his singular role in spurring the violence” of Jan.

The editorial board wrote that Hawley had a “singular role in spurring the violence” on Jan. 6. According to the board, Hawley was “the first and initially only senator to announce his baseless challenge of the election results, setting in motion the grotesque events that followed.”

Democrat Lucas Kunce, a Marine veteran, hopes to do the unlikely: dislodge a Republican incumbent in a deep-red state.

The first-term Republican's re-election campaign spent more than $132,000 on chartered flights between mid-December and June 2024. Recently, Hawley has been hopping around Missouri for rallies with Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker.

After Josh Hawley was elected and bought a home in Virginia, some questioned whether the senator still lived in Missouri. Two new properties appear to establish his residency.
