Authorities in New Orleans have arrested a woman, identified as Danette Colbert, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the death of Telemundo journalist Adan Manzano.

A Slidell woman has been arrested on fraud and theft charges, according to Kenner police. She is accused of using the credit cards of an out of town reporter who was found dead in a hotel room.

Police in Kenner arrested Danette Colbert after the reporter's credit card and cellphones were found in her home.

Police say 48-year-old Danette Colbert was arrested in New Orleans and is, for now, only facing fraud and theft charges.

Police in Kenner, Louisiana, arrested a woman who investigators say was seen leaving Kansas City sports reporter Adan Manzano's room on Wednesday, and allegedly used his credit cards in the New Orleans area after his death.

Manzano's death comes less than a year after the death of his wife, Ashleigh Boyd, who was involved in a car accident on April 11, 2024, in Topeka, Kansas. Boyd and Manzano shared a daughter, who was 15 months old at the time of Boyd’s death, according to Boyd's obituary.
