Kelly Cates has a life-long association with football, she is the daughter of former Celtic and Liverpool manager Sir Kenny Dalglish. Born in Glasgow, she grew up in Southport, Merseyside with her brother and two sisters. Her brother Paul Dalglish was also a professional football player, who played for Newcastle United, Norwich City and Blackpool.
