ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys knew they were getting a young backup quarterback that needed development when they acquired Joe Milton in a trade from the New England Patriots this offseason.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer did not give backup QB Joe Milton III a vote of confidence after Saturday's loss to the Ravens.

The backup quarterback spot for the Dallas Cowboys is an important one given the injury history of Dak Prescott, but Joe Milton III and Will Grier have not been particularly impressive during the preseason.
