The Treasury Department has announced sanctions against two Russian and Iranian entities, citing attempts to meddle in the November election in the U.S.

The U.S. Treasury Department says organizations in Iran and Russia used fake news sites and deepfakes to try and influence the 2024 election.

The U.S. has imposed sanctions on two groups linked to Russian and Iranian disinformation campaigns targeting this year's election.

The Moscow-based CGE also manipulated a video it used to produce baseless accusations concerning a 2024 vice presidential candidate.
