The fourth film in the Paramount Pictures franchise has grossed a series-best $422 million in theaters and generated more than $180 million in home entertainment rentals and purchases.

Paramount has officially revealed a release date for the next Sonic the Hedgehog film, which is coming in March 2027.

A release date for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has been announced. In December 2024, it was announced that a fourth film in the Sonic the Hedgehog film was in the works. At the time, it was given a spring 2027 release window,

Sonic the Hedgehog 4” will sprint to theaters in the spring of 2027. Paramount has added the fourth installment in the family friendly franchise to release calendars on March 19, 2027. The studio announced the fourquel in the Sega video game-inspired series even before the third “Sonic the Hedgehog” adventure hit the big screen.

After previous reporting in December confirmed another Sonic sequel was in the works, Paramount has officially announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will arrive in theaters in March 2027.

The news comes in the wake of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 becoming the highest installment in the franchise with $218.8M domestic, $422.3M worldwide. The entire SEGA branded feature franchise counts $1.1 billion at the global box office.
