The Marvel Rivals tier list is proof of an inherent truth: not every hero (or villain) is built equally. In the competitive shooter’s season 1 (which added two characters, two maps, a battle pass, and skins ), every character is technically viable, but there are some who are obviously more powerful than the rest.

While Cloak and Dagger have been popular in season zero, they have now been buffed to align better with the likes of Mantis and Luna Snow—especially with a boost to the ultimate ability, which now has four dashes upon use, and increased switch times between each form.

Finding your groove in Marvel Rivals can take trial and error, especially when solo queuing. But understanding how characters play off each other goes a long way in building the best team composition.

This is just a partial list of observed changes compiled by a few different people, with several heroes like Captain America likely to have more updates. A full list of patch notes will be available on Jan. 10 when Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls launches.
