Dozens of people were injured after a bus overturned in Lancaster Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol says. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it received calls around 11:17 a.m. about a crash involving a bus near Sierra Highway and Avenue C.

A transit bus that was transporting children was involved in a crash and overturned in Lancaster Wednesday morning. The incident was reported at 11:18 a.m. on Sierra Highway near W Avenue C when the bus lost control and hit the train tracks in the area, the California Highway Patrol said.

One passenger was airlifted out and two others were rushed to the hospital by first responders, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. One person was listed in critical condition, and 16 others did not need immediate transportation via ambulance.
