While the Bay Area's biggest cities are getting help from the state to stem illegal sideshows, smaller cities are maximizing their detection and enforcement efforts with the help of technology.

“Sideshows are dangerous, disruptive, and illegal, and law enforcement agencies across the Bay Area need to work in close coordination to prevent and disrupt them,” Breed said in a statement.

One person has died and two people were hospitalized with injuries following a shooting that took place during a sideshow in East Oakland over the weekend.

The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) said it is collaborating with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to take on sideshows.
