A man crashed his car with his girlfriend’s body inside after fleeing from officers, Nevada police say. Las Vegas Metropolitan police said they got a call from a person saying their friend had shot his girlfriend just after 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, the department said in a Jan. 20 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The suspect of a shooting who fled from police before crashing his vehicle was found with a dead body in the front seat of the vehicle, police said.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the single-vehicle crash occurred around 10:33 p.m. on West Harmon Avenue and South Aldebaran Avenue. An initial investigation found that a 2004 Dodge Dakota was traveling east on Harmon Avenue, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled onto the sidewalk.

A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in a marked crosswalk Sunday, and the driver left the scene, according to Metro Police. The incident was reported about 6:50 p.m. on
