Barcelona managed a 1-0 win over Benfica despite going down to 10 men as they triumphed in the Champions League round of 16 first leg

Playing with 10-men for over an hour of the game, Barcelona showed character and defeated Benfica 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

Benfica fans will not want to be reminded of the 96th minute Raphinha winner scored against them in their epic 5-4 battle back in January. But that's exactly what happened tonight as the Brazilian star netted his ninth goal in the Champions League so far this season.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said he was proud of his players' effort and sacrifice, as they earned a 1-0 win at Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday, despite playing most of the game with 10 men.
