As the WNBA enters free agency, Breanna Stewart and other stars who are eligible to talk to teams are signing new deals or being given the core designation by their teams this offseason.

Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum is a noted absentee when the newly formed 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League tips off its inaugural season on Jan. 17 in Miami, Florida.

Under the current collective bargaining agreement, which expires after next season, players can be given the franchise tag a maximum of twice. This is the second straight season that Stewart has been cored by New York. Teams are allowed to give one player the franchise tag.
