The yield on the 10-year hit a 52-week high of 4.896% on January 13, a week before Trump's second inauguration, and traded as low as 3.860% on April 4 before spiking to 4.607% on May 21, then settling at 4.431% on July 18.

Stock markets stalled Friday as the latest trade-related rally lost steam and US President Donald Trump rated the chances of Washington striking a trade deal with the European Union at barely 50/50. But Trump cautioned that in his view striking a deal with the European Union to reduce import tariffs will be a challenge.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will meet President Donald Trump on Sunday in a bid to reach a trade agreement ahead of Friday’s deadline, at which point 30% tariffs on the bloc’s exports to the US are otherwise due to kick in.
