The Lehigh Valley is under a severe thunderstorm watch until Friday night while a heat advisory remains in effect.
Forecasters say some of the storms on Friday could pack a big punch, with heavy downpours, frequent lightning and damaging winds gusts.

On Friday at 1:41 p.m. a severe thunderstorm watch was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 9 p.m. for Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties.
